Your Informe de Vida Laboral (working life report) is an official record of every period you've been registered with Social Security in Spain — every job, every self-employed spell, and every gap in between. It's commonly requested for mortgage applications, visa renewals and checking your own contribution history.
Requirements
- You must have a Social Security number and at least some registered activity in Spain to have a report to request
- A digital certificate, Cl@ve, or SMS verification linked to your registered mobile number is typically needed to request it online

- Request the report free of charge via the Social Security electronic office (Sede Electrónica de la Seguridad Social) using a digital certificate, Cl@ve, or SMS code
- Alternatively, use the 'Tu Seguridad Social' mobile app, which offers the same report as a quick download
- If you can't verify digitally, request it by post or in person at a Social Security office
- Review the report for every employer/period listed, checking dates and contribution days match your own records

- Not checking the report for gaps or errors — a missing period could mean an old employer never registered you correctly
